IT'S A GIRL!!!

Well, I didn't know if anyone wanted to see the actual "girl" pictures, so I just put up our favorites. My favorite is the little hand because it looks like she is waving. And Nathan likes the little feet. He had the biggest grin on his face when they showed us her feet. He is really excited to have a girl, and so am I. Isn't she cute?

Why do I keep showing up on this blog in this shirt? I do not know. But this is me at about 20 weeks, just a few days after we got the news of our little baby girl. I'm embarrassed, but I know people are wanting a peek at me.

CAMPING TRIP

Nate had a couple days off of work so we headed out to go camping just the 2 of us (and Sophie) We did some fishing and hiking and had such a great time just relaxing and spending time together.

I look so happy because I just felt the baby kicking me. I was really excited.

Sophie had a great time camping too. We went on a nice 4 mile hike and she got really worn out and slept like a rock for the rest of the day. Wouldn't it be nice to be a dog?

When we got there, I told Nate I was scared of the alligators, but he assured me that we would never see one here. But as we were fishing, there in the weeds, was, you guessed it, an alligator. A very small one, but still an alligator. Nate said it was the first time he'd ever seen one there.

A Dog and a Truck

Here is Nate with his dog and his new truck. Every man's dream. Ok so the dog is a joke, but the truck isn't. We just picked this baby up yesterday. It is a Nissan Frontier with a crew cab, (for the baby of course, as Nate would justify) Nate says that now that he has a truck, he'll be able to buy all of our baby furniture and be able to pick it up and drive it home! How would we have ever been able to do that without him getting a truck? I just don't think it could have been possible to call someone and borrow a truck. Oh well, we really needed a second car anyways, and I really like the truck too.

At least Sophie had a good time. She loved the beach no matter how cold it was. She liked running up and down the beach with Nate, and she even chased a bird and found herself swimming back to shore. I don't think she knew how deep the water was.

Our trip to Galveston

A couple of weekends ago, we decided to go spend the weekend in Galveston which is an hour away from us. We thought we were going to spend the whole time lounging on the beach. When we woke up the next morning, it was freezing cold! So much for laying on the beach. We called up our friends Mike and Andrea who live there, and spent the day with them, inside unfortunatley but we still had a good time.

I can't keep a secret any longer!!!

Finally! I have been dying to tell everyone our big news. We finally were able to get pregnant!! After 2 long years of trying, it has finally happend. Thanks to some handy drugs, and thanks to me for driving up to Oklahoma City where I had to meet up with the other half of the ingredient to make a baby. (Thanks for making things harder Nate!) But it worked, so we are so happy!! We have waited until now obviously due to our past we wanted to make sure that this baby was going to stay around for us before we told everyone. And I am the worst secret keeper, so this was as long as I could go. I am 11 weeks now. I was feeling pretty sick for a few weeks, but I am feeling really good now, and getting back to normal. No more laying on the couch watching Maury Povich say "You ARE the father!" That gets a little boring after the millionth time. But that is pretty much all I could do. Anyways, this is another reason why I haven't updated the blog, because I wanted to post this, and there really wasn't anything else besides this. So now everyone won't think I'm so lame for not getting a job and staying home, this is the reason why! Nate is pretty excited about it as well of course. Sophie doesn't know yet, but I'm sure she's going to be pretty jealous when she isn't the only one around here getting attention. So anyways, I'm coming up to Utah next week and can't wait to see all you people!

Update

Due to some complaints, I have finally decided to update the blog. It has been rough to update it as there is nothing much to post here other than some pictures of Sophie, because I feel like I am living here by myself pretty much. Nate has been working so much, I have adjusted to getting along by myself with Sophie. And I am still waiting for the Hyldahl's and the Wegener's to send us our cruise pictures. Ahem ahem...
Nate works pretty much till at least 9 or 10 every night. It should slow down after this week though, (well that is what they say) And I am still at home, just working on house things and so forth.
Little Sophie started puppy school a few weeks ago. She is such a smart little dog. She can already sit and stay, but hasn't figured out how to leave things alone when we say leave it, such as running off with our socks in her mouth, or a pair of shorts or something. But she is learning still. I don't know what I would do with out her though.
I also got a calling in our ward. The primary chorister! I about died when they called me and was in fact in tears, but decided to take it, and am gradually learning to like it. The kids are really funny. I am not the best singer at all but somehow the kids are learning the songs I am teaching them. It is a challanging calling, but I'm surviving...barely.
Some good news is in case anyone is interested, I will be coming back up to Utah to visit for a week April 10-17. I will be coming alone of course, but I think Nate and I will be coming back up together some time in July. We had a free voucher that had to be used up before May, so I figured, what the heck, I don't have anything else to do, I just go! Well from here on out, I will be alot better at keeping this thing updated. So sorry it has been awhile.

Look who joined our family!

Yesterday we picked up this little puppy to join our little family. We felt that we should get one to keep me company while Nate travels and is gone to work everyday. I have only had her one day, but she is already making me so happy. I think we are going to call her Sophie, but if I change my mind, I'll let you know. She is into everything, and I am learning how to clean the carpets around here. But so far, she is doing pretty good adjusting to us.

Howdy Ya'll!

Here is our new house in Spring, Texas! We finally settled in after going on a cruise, Christmas, New Year's and then a 2 week break to Chicago for Nate and Iowa for me. So far everything has been going good. We are having fun redecorating the house and making it feel like our own. And I am learning my way around here pretty good. Nate started his new job officially on Monday and found out that he is going to be traveling to Dallas, and Oklahoma for the next few weeks, and will come home on the weekends. I about died when he told me, but we just have to stick it out till about March when the busy season ends. Yesterday, it got to 30 degrees here and everyone here is freaking out about it and so they closed down all the schools and Nate didn't have to go to work or anything! It is really crazy that people are so worried about a little ice, but hey I'm not complaining.

We had a good Christmas with the Storm's and their family. And then we went to Galveston with them and some friends of theirs over New Years and rode our bikes along the beach and stayed in a little beach house. It was really fun. Then Nate went to Chicago for his 2 week training. I went and spent some time in Iowa with Dusty and his family while he was away. I had a really great time! And now, here we are the reality is setting in and I am trying to adjust as best I can, but I am having a good time.
